The Patna Municipal Corporation is the municipal organisation of Patna, India. Patna Municipal Corporation or Patna Nagar Nigam, abbreviated PMC, is the chief nodal agency for the administration of Patna. ==History== The Patna Municipal Corporation was established on 15 August 1952 by the Government of Bihar. The first election of the councilors were completed in March 1954, but they came in office on 1 February 1955. Patna Municipal Corporation was established in 1952 by a Special Act, brought by the Government of Bihar in 1951. By this act, 88-year-old Patna City Municipality and 35-year-old Patna Bankipore joint water works committee merged to pave the way for the establishment of Patna Municipal Corporation, which celebrated its golden jubilee in 2002.
